The best pizza tour in NYC

New York sells a dozen things called a pizza tour, and they are not the same thing. Some eat pizza at every stop, some eat one slice between tacos and pancakes, and one eats its slice in New Jersey.

The question to ask of any pizza tour is simple: how many of the stops are pizza, and in which borough? On GetYourGuide only two tours eat pizza at every stop and stay in Brooklyn: the Cobble Hill pizza walk and the Williamsburg crawl. A third, a private pizza and beer walk, stays in Brooklyn and pairs the pizza with taprooms. The pizza walk with the most reviews runs in Manhattan's West Village. The rest are food tours or sightseeing tours with a slice built in.

None of that makes one tour bad and another good. It changes what you are buying. Below is every option, with the stops the listings and reviews name, the styles you eat, the ratings and the price.

The quick answer

For pizza in Brooklyn, book the Cobble Hill pizza walk ($65, 3 pizzerias, 2.5 hours) or the Williamsburg crawl ($79, 4 slices, 3 hours). The most-reviewed pizza walk is the West Village tour in Manhattan, rated 4.9. Food tours and the night bus tour include one slice, not a crawl.

What is the best pizza tour in New York City?

For Brooklyn pizza, the Cobble Hill walk: three pizzerias, three styles, $65. For the most reviews and a Manhattan route, the West Village walk at $65.

It depends on two things: the borough you want to be in, and how much pizza you want. The table puts every tour side by side, with the honest count of pizza stops. Ratings and prices are the GetYourGuide figures.

Which pizza tours actually stay in Brooklyn?

Three: the Cobble Hill walk, the Williamsburg crawl and the private pizza and beer walk. The DUMBO food tour and the Italian-American tour are in Brooklyn too, but pizza is only part of the menu.

Brooklyn is where most visitors picture a pizza tour, with good reason: the coal ovens under the Brooklyn Bridge, the Sicilian square at L&B and Di Fara's corner shop are all here. The two public walks split the borough between them. Cobble Hill is brownstone Brooklyn, a few minutes from Atlantic Avenue. Williamsburg is the newer, busier pizza scene, and its crawl starts at Williamsburg Pizza on Union Avenue.

The private walk is a different animal. A host matched to your group picks the stops around Williamsburg, mixing brewery taprooms with a classic slice and pizza to share. Guests must be 21 or over, and you pay for the whole experience per person, so it makes the most sense for a birthday or a small group of friends.

What do you eat on the Brooklyn Pizza Walking Tour?

Cheese pizza at three Cobble Hill pizzerias, each a different style, including a Neapolitan pizzeria and one of the only slice shops with a coal-fired oven.

The listing keeps the pizzerias to itself, which is common for walking tours: stops change with opening days and crowds. It does promise three styles and time with the owners and chefs. One 2026 reviewer counted "2 margaritas and 1 Grandma's Pizza Pie". The tour sticks to cheese pizzas, so vegetarians are covered, and you take home a Pocket Pizza Journal.

  • Meeting point: 298 Atlantic Ave, Cobble Hill. The listing names the F, A, C, 2, 3, 4 and 5 trains.
  • Length: 2.5 hours, ending close to Red Hook, Boerum Hill and Carroll Gardens.
  • Not included: soft drinks, alcohol and tips. Bring a few dollars for a drink at the first stop.

Is a Manhattan pizza tour better than a Brooklyn one?

Not better, but busier. The West Village walk has the most reviews of any pizza walk here (4.9 from 18 reviews), and its stops include some of the most famous names in the city.

The West Village walk meets at John's of Bleecker St and follows pizza from the coal oven to the corner slice shop over three stops. Reviewers name John's and L'Industrie, the shop that came first in the 50 Top Pizza USA 2026 slice ranking. The 7-tasting tour covers Greenwich Village with four slices plus a Middle Eastern flatbread, a scallion pancake wrap and a pie crust cookie; its reviewers name Bleecker Street Pizza, Two Boots, Slicehaus, Pizza Box, Janie's and Lin & Daughters. Stops can change from one date to the next, so treat the names as examples, not a promise.

Pick Manhattan if you are staying downtown and want the famous slices with the least travel. Pick Brooklyn if the borough is the point. For the style question, read Brooklyn vs Manhattan pizza.

Which food tours in Brooklyn include pizza?

The Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO food tour, with a full Grimaldi's slice among five tastings, and the Italian-American tour in Williamsburg, with a New York slice and an ancient Roman pizza among six.

The Heights and DUMBO food tour is the one to book if you want a Grimaldi's slice without queuing for a whole pie. The listing promises one full slice (two if you are hungry), which matters because Grimaldi's in Brooklyn sells whole pies only to walk-in guests. Around it come falafel in Brooklyn Heights, tacos from El Gallo Taqueria, pancakes from Clinton St. Baking Co. and Jacques Torres hot chocolate, plus the Promenade and the bridge views. It covers about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) in 3 hours.

The Italian-American tour meets at Carmine & Sons on Graham Avenue: chicken parm, carbonara, deli meats, a hero, espresso and cannoli or a rainbow cookie, with the two pizzas in between. It cannot do substitutions, so it does not suit vegetarians, vegans or gluten-free diets.

What about the pizza bus tours?

There are two. A Slice of Brooklyn, sold on its own website, drives to Grimaldi's and L&B in about 4.5 hours. The night skyline tour on GetYourGuide includes one cheese slice, eaten in New Jersey.

A Slice of Brooklyn is the original Brooklyn pizza bus. Per its website it leaves from Union Square at 11 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, costs $105 for adults and $95 for children under 12, and includes two slices and a soft drink at each of two pizzerias: Grimaldi's in DUMBO and L&B Spumoni Gardens in Bensonhurst. Coney Island's boardwalk and film locations fill the rest of the day. Its FAQ says tickets cannot be cancelled or refunded once bought.

The night skyline bus tour is sightseeing first. It meets at Junior's on Broadway at West 49th Street, crosses the Manhattan Bridge to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, then heads to New Jersey for a cheese slice with a Manhattan view and Hamilton Park in Weehawken. 4.8 from 73 reviews make it the most-reviewed tour with pizza on this page. Arrive on time: late arrivals are not refunded.

How much does a pizza tour in NYC cost?

From $65 for the Cobble Hill and West Village walks to $79 for the Williamsburg crawl, $129 for the DUMBO food tour and $264 per person for the private walk.

The walking tours include the pizza, not the drinks or the tip. Budget a few dollars per stop for a soda or a beer, and the usual tip for a good guide. All the GetYourGuide options here cancel free up to 24 hours before.

Is it cheaper to do it yourself? On slices, yes: a plain slice now costs about $3.81 at the median New York shop, per Gothamist's December 2025 survey, and the slice price guide has the detail. The catch is that many of the famous Brooklyn names (Juliana's, Grimaldi's, Totonno's) sell whole pies only, so three pizzerias on your own means three whole pies or a lot of friends. A tour buys you the tasting portions, the order of stops and somebody who knows the people at the ovens.
